🎬 Purpose Film and Media Festival: Casting Session Instructions

Welcome to the Casting Session at the Purpose Film and Media Festival. This is a unique opportunity for actors and actresses to showcase their talent in front of industry professionals including talent agents, casting directors, and producers. While this session is not tied to a specific project, strong performances may lead to future collaborations and casting opportunities.
Please read the following instructions carefully:
🔹 Casting Session Format
-
Each performer will deliver one monologue of their choice.
-
Monologues must be between 1 to 2 minutes in length.

Monologues may be dramatic, comedic, classical, or contemporary — select a piece that best showcases your range and personality.
-
No additional props or costumes are allowed. Focus is on performance, delivery, and presence.
🔹 Check-In Process
-
Actors and actresses will register for their slot when they check in at registration at the beginning of their conference experience.
-
All performers must check in 30 minutes before their assigned slot.
-
You will receive a numbered badge upon check-in. This is how you will be called to perform.
-
Late arrivals may forfeit their spot.
🔹 Performance Guidelines
-
When called, step onto the stage or designated performance area.
-
Clearly state your name and the title of your monologue piece before beginning.
-
Deliver your monologue facing the audience/judging panel. Eye contact with the panel is encouraged, but not required.
-
After your performance, thank the panel and exit promptly.
🔹 Audience & Panel
-
The panel will consist of talent agents, casting directors, producers, and other industry professionals.
-
Performances will not be publicly scored, but panel members may request to speak with individual performers afterward.
-
Networking is encouraged, and time will be allotted after the session for informal meet-and-greet opportunities.
🔹 Additional Notes
-
Bring a few hard copies of your headshot and résumé to hand out if requested.
-
Be prepared to discuss your work or background if approached.
-
Respect your fellow performers — silence during others’ performances is mandatory.
